The Underground is designed to be a safe place for students to gather in a like-minded faith based atmosphere. The goal is to create an environment that they can be themselves and have fun, while strengthening their relationship with Christ and with each other. The Underground is also a great tool to reach other students who may be “unchurched”, and to further the Kingdom of God through their salvation. All students grade 6-12 are welcome!
We have monthly events ranging from a simple game night in the Underground to a 4-5 hour game or activity. Not to mention the opportunity to spend a week at camp building strength in Christ, trust in each other, and a whole lot of FUN.
We meet in the Underground as a large group enjoying coffee and snacks for a brief lesson opener. We then break up into smaller groups to dig into God’s Word. One Sunday a month we minister to our adult classes by providing them breakfast. This serves as a great lesson on serving and being a blessing to others.
We believe in the importance of intergenerational worship and we know that worship is a vital way for the church to connect with each other. Our students are an integrated and essential part of our corporate worship. Students sing in the choir, are part of our praise team and band, help run our technology, and serve as greeters and ushers at various times.
We meet in the Underground for a laid-back setting to rejuvenate our youth in the midst of their crazy schedules. Each evening includes time for hanging out, snacks, and games, followed by worship led by our youth praise team. The remaining time we spend delving into God’s Word to find answers to issues students deal with every day.
